In today’s lesson, Ms Paine revised the Le Tour De Essay model and its features. Afterwards, we then looked at The Hunger Games paragraph scaffold. Ms Paine showed the class a completed exemplar of both the scaffold and the start of the essay.
For the rest of the double, the class worked on their 5 Paragraph Essay Scaffold. This should be completed before starting to draft your essay on your laptop.
PROCESS – ESSAY due Thursday 24/11
1. Complete Essay Scaffold and show teacher
2. Draft essay in MSWord
3. Get a friend/family member to edit.
4. Proofread your essay again.
5. Submit to Ms Paine by the end of Thursday’s lesson.
In today’s lesson, Ms Paine went through the answers to the Critical Reading Practise Test on Romeo and Juliet. Please see the 10 ENGLISH homepage for the most up to date information about what to bring to the test and what to revise for homework.

1. Finish the novel (if not already done)
2. Answer Q 24-26
3. Complete pg. 5 – ANALYSIS ACTIVITY FOUR: FIRE AS A SYMBOL.
4. Silent independent reading.

In today’s lesson, the class discussed the answers to Q 19 & 20 on THE HUNGER GAMES.
Afterwards they were required to do the following:
> Answer Q 21, 22 and 23 on the novel.
> Finish reading the novel, if you haven’t already. (Students who have finished the novel, may do independent reading instead.)
Finish for H/W anything not completed during lesson time.
In today’s lesson, we went through the answers to Q 30-34 on Romeo and Juliet, as well as the two extra questions. Afterwards, Ms Paine introduced the Key Ideas and Techniques summary mindmap activity and asked the class to complete it. Please finish for H/W.
In today’s lesson, the class discussed the answers to Q 17 and 18 on THE HUNGER GAMES. Afterwards, we read from the start of CH 24. Students were required to complete this chapter and answer Q 20.

In today’s lesson, the class went through the answers to Q 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 a) b) c). Afterwards they were required to read CH 22 for the rest of the lesson. This needs to be completed by our lesson on Thursday.
